IKEA highlights, in its latest commercial, that together we can save our sleep.
“Millions of well-rested humans once roamed the Earth, but with rising stress in the modern world, a good night’s sleep is nearly extinct,” the voiceover says at the beginning of the 30-second ad, which features various people of different ages, backgrounds and walks of life yawning and falling asleep in unexpected moments – while commuting to work by bus, while reading a book on a bench, and even while standing and pushing the kid’s swing. “However, the voiceover then points out “there’s hope on the horizon” because, every day, “IKEA is designing vital sleep sanctuaries”. “With rest reserves like these, repopulation is possible,” viewers are also informed while on screen IKEA customers are seen testing and buying sleep products, such as the ANGSLILJA full/queen duvet cover set ($34.99/3 pcs), the KLUBBSPORRE ergonomic gel pillow ($49.99), and the HAUGESUND queen spring mattress ($249).
At the end of the commercial, the voiceover highlights that, together, we can save our sleep and the chain’s tagline, “Make the Dream Yours,” flashes across the screen.
