GEICO has released a new commercial, featuring a couple trying to haggle with the GEICO Gecko over a rocking chair at his yard sale.
The 30-second spot opens with the woman (played by Brooke Breit) telling her husband (played by Thomas Kelly) that the Gecko’s rocking chair would look great in their new house. “Ah, new house, eh? You should definitely see how GEICO could help you save on homeowners insurance,” the company’s mascot, voiced by Jake Wood, tells the two. The man thanks him for the tip and tells the Gecko he will give him two bucks for the chair. Offended by the offer, the Gecko highlights that the respective chair is a Victorian antique. Asked how much he wants for the recliner behind him, the Gecko, surprised to see it there, can’t help but ask himself how it got out there because that is definitely not for sale. “Is this a yard sale? If it’s in the yard, then it’s… for sale,” the couple point out. “Oh, here we go,” the Gecko answers, uttering a deep breath.
The commercial ends with the voiceover saying “GEICO. It’s easy to switch and save on homeowners and renters insurance”.
