GEICO advertises, in one of its latest commercials, its Renters Insurance.
The spot features two roommates who found a mime to be their third roommate as a compromise solution to the differences between them. “When we were looking for a roommate, he wanted someone super quiet,” one of the two roommates says in the opening of the 30-second ad. At this point, his roommate reveals that the first one wanted someone to help out with the chores and this is how they got John Pierre – a mime who “helps” them with the chores by miming to do that.
However, there is one thing they could both agree on: getting GEICO to help with renters insurance. “Yeah, GEICO did make it easy to switch and save,” one of the roommates says while lifting his legs so that John Pierre could vacuum the carpet.
At the end of the commercial, viewers are encouraged to visit the insurance company’s website and see how easy saving on renters insurance can be.
A Renters Insurance policy through GEICO provides affordable coverage for yourself and your personal belongings for things like fire, smoke damage, vandalism, theft, windstorm, water damage, and visitor injuries. Commonly covered items include electronics and appliances, furniture and clothing, extra expenses if the property is uninhabitable due to a covered loss, accidental damage to someone else’s property, and medical expenses and/or legal fees if someone is injured on your property. The cost of renters insurance depends on how much coverage you choose to buy. On the company’s website, you can use a personal property calculator to see how much coverage you may need. In addition, there are several ways you can save on this type of insurance with discounts.
In another new commercial, GEICO touts its Homeowners & Condo Insurance by showing how some parents managed to solve an issue generated by the different things their teenage kids wanted – building a snow globe.
