Facebook invites you to see how its all-new family of Portals helps the Muppets feel together no matter where they are.
The 90-second spot opens with the Muppets spread all across the world, singing a melancholy version of their theme song.
After they receive a Facebook Portal from Kermit the Frog and they are reunited through video calling, the tempo picks up.
Fozzie Bear uses it to stay in touch with his mom, The Great Gonzo asks Kermit for an opinion on the fruit hat he’s
wearing, and Miss Piggy and “Kermie” agree that it’s good to see each other again. The Swedish Chef, Rowlf the Dog,
Beaker, Floyd Pepper, Crazy Harry, and Scooter also make appearances.
“If you can’t be there, feel there,” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial.
Launched nearly a year ago, on November 8, 2018, the Facebook Portal line-up includes the 10.1-inch Portal, the 15.6-inch Portal Plus, Portal Mini and Portal TV, that provide smart video calling. Prices range from $129 for the Portal Mini to $149 for the Portal TV, $179 for the Portal and $279 for the Portal+.
