Eurotunnel celebrates its 25th anniversary with a special ad from agency Southpaw, that features pioneering techniques in photography and stars three of Eurotunnel staff members.
The spot, dubbed “Many Happy Returns,” just like the multi-channel campaign, celebrates all the different people, vehicles and animals that have used Eurotunnel over the last 25 years. Snowboarders, surfboarders, feet up on the dashboarders, boot-fillers, bike rack fillers, wine rack fillers, nature lovers, adventure lovers, are only some of the characters mentioned by the voiceover, who’s wishing everyone, for Eurotunnel’s 25th birthday, “Many Happy Returns” and urges them to join the celebration at eurotunnel.com.
Sam Bone, copywriter at Southpaw, said the agency wanted to convey, through the ad, Eurotunnel’s promise that “once you come once, you will come back and you will have many, many happy journeys through the tunnel with them”. “We really wanted to show all the different types of vehicles, all the different types of people, all the different holidays and trips you could go on,” he also said.
Eurotunnel The Shuttle, the car and vehicle service that links UK to France and travels from Folkestone to Calais in 35 minutes, launched its new campaign on May 3rd. The campaign, which features 2.5D parallax technology, a technique that brings 2D still imagery to life in the video and digital ads, also includes TV, cinema, out-of-home (OOH) in London and the South East, radio, online display and social media.
