Credit Karma advertises its services in Canada in a new commercial, aimed at highlighting that your credit score can do more.
The spot features a Credit Karma user and his old car, which turns into a newer, more modern one every time the guy checks and improves his credit score. While the first message reads that the score “needs work,” as changes are made and the score gets bigger, the messages are different, such as “There you go,” “Keep it up!” and “Nice job!”.
Finally, when his credit score arrives at 803 and the convertible he now owns, along with a bike attached to it, the man puts the phone aside and gets ready to go for a ride.
“Your score can do more” an onscreen line reads at the end of the commercial, which also features the voiceover urging viewers to check their credit score for free and learn how to improve it at creditkarma.ca.
Credit Karma has been offering a monthly credit score through its free online credit report and credit monitoring service since 2007, when it was founded. The score provided by Credit Karma is VantageScore 3.0, which was developed by the three credit bureaus – Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion – as an alternative to the FICO scoring model. The company also helps consumers track, maintain and improve credit health with free tools and information, provides recommendations for credit card and a variety of loans, and free federal and state income tax preparation, a recent feature introduced for the Tax Year 2016 filing period in 2017.
