Compare the Market Meerkat Meals Commercial - Burnt Meal

Insurance intermediary Compare the Market advertises its Meerkat Meals reward programme in a hilarious new spot.

The spot opens with Andrew, a young man who burnt the dinner he prepared for him and his wife, and goes on with Sergei and Aleksandr showing up in his kitchen. While the latter rushes to use the extinctor, the other tells the guy he commited “a serious crime against cooking”. When the woman returns home, she is given a glimpse of the burnt dish just like she had to recognize someone at the morgue, and then they are both invited by Sergei to join him.

As the advert ends, it turns out the couple went to a restaurant, where they enjoyed a 2-for-1 on starters, mains and desserts with Meerkat Meals.

When customers compare and switch providers and/or buy a qualifying product, they get Meerkat Meals, which enables them to enjoy 2 for 1 meals (starters, mains and desserts) every Sunday – Thursday, for a whole year. The Meerkat Meals membership can be used at thousands of participating restaurants across the UK, including both well-known chains and local independents. To enjoy Meerkat Meals at independent restaurants make sure that you book your table in advance.

The Meerkat app is the only way to enjoy Meerkat Meals, and it couldn’t be easier to use.

This is not the only perk offered by the comparison website. There is also Meerkat Movies, which offers 2-for-1 cinema tickets, but only one day/week.

In another recent advert, Compare the Market presented a “fantastic digital creation” called AutoSergei, designed to keep life simple and help people keep a robotic eye on their energy bills. The spot features Aleksandr Orlov and Sergei, as usual, and encourages viewers to find out how AutoSergei could make switching the energy easier.
