B&Q Spring Advert - Woman in the Garden

B&Q has released a new advert, encouraging people to transform their garden this spring.

The spot features a man in his backyard, looking at the grown grass, a woman looking at her dead plants and a father surrounded by his kids’ toys, looking at a ball. When the objects around them, such as a pottery little angel used a decorative item in the garden, a decorative bee and more, start encouraging them to “do it,” they all decide to get to work and transform their garden. But first, they head to B&Q, where they purchase the items necessary for carrying out the work they need to do, such as a Mac Allister 1200w lawnmower, easyGrow 6 pack bedding plants and neva modular fencing & screening.

The spot also promotes the chain’s Click & Collect service, which is available on selected products/locations.

This is not the first installment that carries the tagline “Do it!”. A previous spot, from agency WCRS and directed by Sam Hibbard, features similar scenarios: a couple on their couch are looking at their wallpaper, which needs replastering as it’s getting stripped off, a middle-aged man standing in his backyard and holding a rake is looking at the amount of fallen leaves he has to rake up, and a woman sitting on a couch, as well, is thinking about getting rid of the threadbare wall-to-wall carpet in her apartment. They all find at B&Q what they need and manage to conquer “those unfinished jobs”.
