The spot features two colleagues from the Department of Public Works who talk, while hanging Christmas decorations, about their intentions for the holidays. Asked if he’s all set for the holidays, one of the two men says he stills needs “that special gift” for his Elena, his girlfriend. At this point, a Best Buy sales representative shows up next to them, up in the air, to find out how special the gift must be. When the guy says he needs to make up for the last year, the Best Buy employee suggests a new number on Verizon’s network, mentioning that Best Buy will activate it for him so that he could walk out and ready to go. “That’s perfect!” answers the man, who is then surprised to hear his coworker saying “I wish I was Elena”. Realizing the awkwardness of his statement, the other man then immediately specifies “For the phone”.
