Amazon has released a new commercial, highlighting that, with Echo Auto, you can play music and your favorite podcasts, ask Alexa to control your smart home and stay connected with those you love without taking your hands off the wheel.
The 30-second ad, titled “Coming Home,” features a man driving the car through the city streets at night and asking Alexa to do various things. First, he asks the smart assistant to stop his podcast, then he instructs her to set the temperature at home to 71 degrees and turn on the lights. As the spot goes on, it turns out he has done this for his wife, who takes the opportunity, once arrived home, to ask Alexa to call Mike – her husband – and thank him for his kind gesture. She also wishes him to have fun at work, even though his work is in a hospital.
Echo Auto connects to the Alexa app on your phone and plays through your car’s speakers via auxiliary input or your smartphone’s Bluetooth connection. With 8 microphones and far-field technology, it can hear you over music, A/C, and road noise. All you need to do is use your voice to play music, check the news, make calls, add to your to-do list, manage your calendar, and more. Users can press the microphone off button to electronically disconnect the microphones.
The Echo Auto is priced at $49.99.
