Subaru Canada presents the 2020 Subaru Outback as the “Greatest Outback Of All Time” in a new commercial.
The spot features the brand’s redesigned SUV in competition with a goat. “To become the GOAT, the all-new 2020 Subaru Outback must beat the goat. Up the mountain,” the voiceover says in the opening of the 30-second spot, which follows the vehicle as it drives up and down the mountain and across rocky terrain, just like the animal does. Thus, viewers get to see the symmetrical Full-Time All-Wheel Drive with X-Mode versus hooves and ground clearance versus hopping. However, the true test, as the voiceover points out, was the 14-foot canoe, where the goat tapped out.
“The all-new 2020 Subaru Outback, the Greatest Outback of all time,” the voiceover adds at the end of the commercial.
According to the automaker, the 2020 Outback, now built on the Subaru Global Platform and completely re-engineered from top to bottom, offers a choice of two all-new Subaru Boxer engines and even more advanced safety systems, including the Standard Subaru EyeSight driver-assist technology. While the new exterior design “matches the rugged character of the Outback,” the new interior “brings unexpected levels of comfort and refinement,” and the standard roof rails with crossbars make it easy to bring bulkier items along for the ride.
The 2020 Subaru Outback range includes the Outback Convenience, starting at $30,695, the Outback Touring, starting at 34,795, the Outback Limited, starting at $38,995, the Outback Premier, starting at $40,995, the Outback Outdoor XT, starting at $38,695, the Outback Limited XT, starting at $41,795, and the Outback Premier XT, starting at $41,795.
