Opel has released a new ad for its Combo Life van, that focuses on the available Blind Spot Alert system.
The 30-second spot features a group of cheerleaders showing off their amazing skills on set, in front of an Opel Combo Life. Among them, near the car, there is also a gorilla which goes unnoticed, though, according to the voiceover, who mentions that “around 75% of viewers don’t notice the gorrila” until a visual warning appears on the outside rear view mirror. “The Blind Spot Alert in the Opel Combo helps you see more. At least while driving,” the voiceover adds, while the gorilla is reflected in the rear view mirror wawing at viewers.
The ad, which also informs that the Opel Combo, available with 5 or 7 seats, also features up to 2.126 litres of trunk space and up to 19 driver aids, ends with the voiceover adding that “The facts speak for the Opel Combo”.
The Blind Spot Alert system, which automatically activates at speeds above 17km/h, detects cars in the driver’s blind spot and warns optically by projecting an amber icon on the outside rear view mirror.
Introduced as “The New Everyday Hero,” Opel Combo Life also features, in terms of safety, Forward Collision Alert with Pedestrian Detection and Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Hill Start Assist, Intelligent Speed Adaptation, and Speed Limiter along with Driver Drowsiness Alerts and Speed Sign recognition. The entry-level price is set at €19,995 (RRP incl. VAT in Germany). For prices starting at €23,450 the Combo Life is available in the Edition trim, which includes further equipment features such as the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible Multimedia Radio with an eight-inch color touchscreen, air-conditioning and heated steering wheel as standard.
