McDonald’s UK informs that Great Tastes of the World is back in its restaurants and showcases, in a new ad, the spicy Jamaican Chicken, available on the menu until 20th November.
The advert features a young couple on a beach in Jamaica, delighted by the perspective of spending their holiday in a sunny and quiet place. What seemed to be a perfect spot for their plan proves a nightmare. Well, not actually a nightmare, but there is something that keeps them awake at night: loud music just outside their beach-front accommodation.
“Sometimes, a taste is all you need,” the voiceover says at the end of the video, urging viewers to try the Spicy Jamaican Chicken, with pepper jack cheese and Spicy Jerk Sauce.
The Jamaican Chicken burger is made with two pieces of crispy chicken with a spicy jerk sauce, cool mayo, Beechwood smoked bacon, Pepper Jack cheese, red onion and lettuce, all in a seasoned jerk bun. Prices are set at £4.49 for the burger only, £5.99 for a Medium and £6.39 for a Large Meal.
The fast-food restaurant chain was met with a backlash after announcing its Jamaican Chicken Burger due to the fact that it contains a Jerk flavored patty and eating pork is mostly denounced in Rastafarian culture.
