McDonald’s has launched a new ad campaign, starring John Goodman, Gabrielle Union, and Charles Barkley, to promote the new 100% fresh beef Quarter Pounder burgers.
The 30-second spots, aimed at highlighting that now the Quarter Pounders are made with 100% beef and cooked-to-order, feature the three celebrities indulging themselves with the burgers while closed captioning reveals their thoughts.
BET’s drama series Being Mary Jane star, Gabrielle Union, is left speechless by the new “hotter, juicier Quarter Pounder,” but her taste buds have got her thinking. Which are her thoughts? These ones: “McDonald’s knows just what I like… with that cooked right when I order hotness. But hotter isn’t everything. You know what it though? Hotter and juicier. And 100% fresh beef? That’s worth 100% of my love. And this melty cheese is burger Nirvana. I literally can’t even… have just one bite”.
“The New 100% Fresh Beef QUARTER POUNDER Burgers. So Good, They’ll Leave You SPEECHLESS.” onscreen lines read at the end of the spot.
The switch to fresh beef, cooked right when ordered, was announced by McDonald’s USA in March 2017. In March 2017, the fast-food chain announced that all Quarter Pounder and Signature Crafted Recipe burgers in approximately 3,500 restaurants in select markets were made with fresh cooked-to-order beef and that, by early May, the chance would be implemented to all participating restaurants in the contiguous U.S.
According to McDonald’s, all of its Quarter-pound burgers, which include the Quarter Pounder, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Double Quarter Pounder and Signature Crafted Recipe burgers, use 100 percent beef with absolutely no fillers, additives or preservatives.
