The 30-second ad features a young woman who, after taking out of the oven the duck she had tried to prepare for a romantic dinner with her boyfriend, gets panicked because it’s burnt and calls her dad via the Echo Show to help her with a new dish. Learning that she has spaghetti in the cabinet, he immediately comes up with the idea of cooking spaghetti and gives her step-by-step instructions on what she should do. When the doorbell rings, right after she finishes the meal, the girl asks her father how she looks and is given a confidence boost when he replies “Perfect.” When he asks her what’s her partner’s name, though, she decides to hang up and asks Alexa to do it, while she’s heading to the door to open it.

The all-new Amazon Echo Show was introduced earlier this year, in September.
