Volvo showcases the 2019 XC40, which was recently unveiled to the world, in a new commercial.
The brand’s smallest SUV, built in Sweden and “made for your city”, XC40 features an expressive youthful exterior design influenced, according to lead exterior designer Ian Kettle, by sci-fi movies and consumer electronics. In terms of storage, the XC40 includes door panel storage that’s large enough for laptops and handbags, and an ingenious foldout hook for takeout and other small bags. Thanks to the available hands-free, power-operated tailgate, loading and unloading will be easier.
With regards to technology, the XC40 boasts, according to the automaker, an easy-to-use center touch screen, a high-resolution driver display, and voice control that understands normal speech. A unique air-ventilated woofer that delivers precise, powerful sound is available and, for an even more immersive experience, customers can opt for the Harman Kardon Premium Sound audio system.
Safety is guaranteed by an entire suite of safety features including City Safety, which identifies other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and large animals ahead, warning the driver if a collision is imminent and braking automatically in case the they don’t react in time, and Run-off Road Mitigation, which helps keeping drivers on the road if it senses that they are about to leave the road unintentionally.
Moreover, Volvo introduces Care By Volvo, “a new way to own a car”, which gives customers “all the benefits of owning a car with less hassle and commitment”. For one flat monthly rate (starting from $600/month), they get premium insurance by Liberty Mutual, factory scheduled maintenance, tire and wheel road hazard protection, as well as excess wear and use protection at vehicle return, the chance to personalize the XC40 with multiple color choices, and even upgrade to a new car after the first 12 months.
Volvo XC40 models, arriving 2018, are XC40 T5 AWD Momentum and XC40 T5 AWD R-Design.
