“Progressive can’t save you from becoming your parents… but we can save you money when you bundle home and auto” – this is the idea behind the latest Progressive Insurance commercial, titled “Group Session”.
The 30-second spot features a “Dad” Support Group during a session, with various adults sharing their experiences. “Like most of you, I just bought a house and I’m turning into my dad.” – a young man says, showing a photo of his new house. His “confession” is then followed by others, like “I text in full sentences.”, “I refer to every child as chief.” “This hat was free, what am I supposed to do? Not wear it?”. After this, another participant, a middle-aged man with white hair, is asking, preoccupied: “Why is the door open? Are we trying to condition the whole neighborhood?” and the man who started the group session says he has bundled home and auto on the Progressive website.
The spot ends with the voiceover mentioning that Progressive can save you money when you bundle home and auto and with the middle-aged man asking rhetorically his “fellows” “Why would I replace this? It’s not broken”.
