Pick ‘n Save has launched a touching Thanksgiving commercial to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and to celebrate National Adoption Day in Milwaukee County.

The 60-second spot features a young Asian boy trying to accomodate in his new house, as it is revealed through a
series of details, that he is adopted. His adopting mother tells him she’s cooking Thanksgiving dinner, explaining that this is “a holiday where we all get together with our family and enjoy a meal”. The next scene features the entire family around the table, with the father asking the kids if they are ready to eat.

“Well, we have a very, very special meal this year.” – his wife says, bringing the food in. As she does this, a large smile brightens the boy’s face. When the filming angle covers the table, we get to see why he is smiling: his new mother prepared all kind of Asian dishes. “We’re so thankful you’re part of our family now.” – she says looking into his eyes and he answers “Thank you” in his mother language.

The commercial ends with the onscreen line “Happy Thanksgiving”.

The grocery chain teamed up with the Coalition for Children, Youth & Families and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services this month, which is National Adoption Month, to provide breakfast on National Adoption Day (November 11) in Milwaukee County.
