For over twenty years we have watched Santa and M&M’S Red faint on the night of Christmas Eve, when he unexpectedly found himself face to face with Red and Yellow. Now, the Mars-owned brand shows us how Yellow, who didn’t faint, saved Christmas that night and showed everyone the true meaning of the holidays.
The spot, which is a sequel to the famous BBDO’s 1996 “Faint” commercial, features Yellow embarking on a quest to save Christmas. Things don’t go exactly as planned as he delivers the wrong gifts to people, but this proves to be a quite good thing, as they end up exchanging gifts and hugs on Christmas morning.
This year’s M&M’S Christmas commercial, which is created by CLM BBDO in France, in collaboration with BBDO New York, and directed by La Pac director Reynald Gresset, ends with the tagline “Bring Everyone Together with M&M’S”.
