Macy’s continues its Christmas ad campaign with a new spot, telling the heartwarming story of a little girl who brings her parents together through the perfect gift.

The 30-second spot, titled “The Perfect Scent”, features the girl in a Macy’s store picking up a Chanel perfume and giving it to an employee to have it wrapped up, saying it’s for her mom. Informed that the respective fragrance is for men, she says she knows and pays for it with the money she had saved. The next scene shows the kid giving the Christmas gift to her mother who, after opening it, becomes emotional and says “it’s perfect”. As the spot continues, we get to understand why that precise men’s fragrance is perfect. Her father, who is away even now, during the holiday season, working on a ship, usually uses this fragrance and her mother, by spraying it on his pillow, feels him closer at night.

The commercial highlights that, at Macy’s, you can find over 250 of the best fragrances in the world and that “the perfect gift brings people together” – this being the tagline of the department store chain’s Christmas campaign.
