Hotels.com has launched a new ad inviting viewers to join today, unlock instant savings and earn free nights to use later.
The 15-second spot, dubbed “Road Trip”, aiming to highlight that “leaving early for the weekend isn’t always rewarding, but Hotels.com is”, features a family stuck in traffic on their way for a weekend getaway.
“Mom, are we…?” – the boy asks. Captain Obvious, who’s sitting in the back seat, between the boy and his older sister, answers “No, we are not there yet.” The mom, who’s at the wheel, all sweat because of the high temperature and frustrated because of the traffic, says “Thanks, Captain Obvious!” with a look revealing the irony. “Trying to beat weekend traffic isn’t always rewarding, but Hotels.com is.” – Captain Obvious says looking at the camera.
The spot ends with the voiceover highlighting that users can unlock instant savings now and earn free nights that they can use later.
