The 30-second spot, dubbed “Mom Knows Best”, features a guy in the trash bag aisle, attacked by an old lady after taking off a shelf a box of “Wimpy” garbage bags. “Don’t buy Wendy trash bag. Save money with Hefty!” – says the woman, keeping the customer immobilized. At this point, Cena shows up, telling his mom that she “can’t keep doing this”. “That’s your mom?” – asks the man in the supermarket. The professional wrestler and actor reveals she is and adds that she’s right because “Hefty is a better deal”.

The spot ends with Hefty’s chanted slogan, well known in the 1980s, “Hefty! Hefty! Hefty!”, and with the voiceover urging viewers to get the Hefty Ultra Strong with Arm & Hammer Odor Control and mentioning that “costs less than Glad where sold head-to-head”.
