Credit Karma has dropped a hilarious new ad to spotlight a very serious issue: identity theft.

The 30-second spot, dubbed “Polite ID Thief”, features a woman throwing away garbage and finding a man in her
trash can. “Oh, my Gosh, I’m so sorry, are you ok?” – she asks the guy, who’s saying that’s ok and that is all his fault. “I was rummaging through your trash so I could steal your identity.” – he reveals smiling. “Oh, ok.” – the woman answers smiling, as well. However, her smile vanishes after she processes the information just received. “Wait, my identity? You can steal my identity with my mail?” – she asks while the thief starts eating half a sandwich found in the trash. “Oh, sure can and it works like a charm, too.” – he admits and then, saying he’s got everything he needs and taking another piece of paper from her mailbox, rushes away.
