Amazon presents, in a new commercial, its Amazon Key service, that enables in-home delivery and secure home
access for guests and service appointments.
“You already know. Amazon is the easiest way to get what you need. Like gifts for people whose birthday you’ve forgotten.” – the voiceover says at the beginning of the 90-second spot featuring a young woman at the office who receives a text from her dad letting her know that he and her mom will be coming into town that night for her mom’s birthday and they will also pass by her new apartment to see it, which makes her panic, because, first, she has forgotten about her mother’s birthday and second, because her apartment is a total mess and would definitely need a clean-up before being seen by anyone.
“As an Amazon Prime member, you’ll be able to use Amazon Key, a new service that enables in-home delivery. With the Amazon Key app you can also grant access to the people you trust. Let’s say you need to remotely manage guest access to the front door of your home. Maybe to let in your dog walker, a friend, or maybe to let in a team of home cleaning ninjas.” – the voiceover says, while the girl is seen ordering cat figurines as a gift for her mom and selecting the option In-Home Delivery, and also having a team of home cleaning specialists go to her apartment and clean it.
The voiceover also gives furter information on what to do to get started, namely order the Amazon Key In-Home Kit, which includes Amazon Cloud Cam and one of several compatible smart locks, have it installed by a pro, or if you’re handy, install it yourself. It is also mentioned that, with Amazon Key, you can get your packages delivered just inside your door, you can track your delivery with real-time notifications, watch the delivery happening live, or review a video of the delivery after it’s complete.
The spot ends with the girl having her parents over and rushing to enter the apartment before them so that she could hide the package delivered while she was gone and take out the gift for her mom.
