Amazon promotes Amazon Assistant, its official browser extension that “helps you make better shopping decisions
wherever you shop online”, in a new commercial, highlighting that, as you shop across the web, Assistant proactively shows you Amazon’s best offer and ratings for products you are browsing.

The 30-second spot features a young woman who’s shopping for Christmas gifts online looking at a $299.99 compact digital camera. When she’s about to add it to the cart, a notification from Amazon Assistant appears in the upper part of the webpage, featuring the same camera at $249.99. Happy that she found this better deal, she doesn’t think twice before hitting the “Buy now” button. Finally, she is seen crossing off the gift list her name with a large smile on her face.

The spot ends with the tagline “Shop smarter online” and with the invitation for viewers to download the assistant for their browser today.

According to Amazon, Assistant helps you stay up to date with your deliveries and never miss a deal, keep an eye out for product comparisons that can save time and money, save products from any website to your Registries or Lists.

Moreover, it sends you a notification when deals that you’re watching go live with desktop notifications and gives you shortcuts to popular Amazon destinations right in your browser.

Amazon offers localized support in 10 locales at the moment, including US, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, UK, Spain, Japan, India, and China.
