Aldi continues its I Like Aldi campaign with a new commercial focusing, this time, on red wine.
The 30-second spot features a group of female friends getting together at one of their house. One of them says they like a specific award-winning Pinot Noir, that costs $21.82 at other supermarkets, and another Pinot Noir, that costs $12.99 at Aldi. “That’s why we love book club.” – she adds, making her friends giggle and revealing thus that they are telling others they go at the book club when they actually are gathering for drinks.
At this point, another woman shows up with a bottle of wine in her hand, saying she’s sorry she’s late and mentioning she forgot her book. “What book?” – one of them asks her and then they all start laughing out loud. “We can just read the label.” – another friend suggests, making a sign with her hand to have the bottle handed over to her.
The commercial ends with the voiceover saying the tagline “You’ll like them both but love our price.” and presenting the award-winning Broken Clouds Pinot Noir, voted 2017 Product of the Year in the Wine Category.
