Girl Scouts of the USA advertises the Girl Scout Cookie Program in a new commercial, showing people how the tradition of fundraising by selling sweets door-to-door can be a lesson that lasts a lifetime.
The spot, created by agency Invisible Man, opens with a young girl backed up by an invisible cookie-shaped mascot that encourages her when she needs it and is always there to support her. The protagonist is then shown at different stages of her life as she uses the essential skills learned from the organization, such as goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics, through her life in education and business.
As the spot ends, it shows her passing on the tradition and her steadfast cookie friend to her own young daugher.
“Every cookie sold in the Girl Scout Cookie Program helps girls learn lifelong lessons in people skills, decision making, money management, goal setting and business ethics. From one generation to the next, it’s amazing how much you can learn from a cookie,” the voiceover says on the 60-second ad, adding the tagline for the Girl Scout Cookie Program, namely “Think outside the box”.
