KitKat promotes, in a new advert, the KitKat Senses, highlighting that the bite-sized chocolate treats, “created to share”, bring everyone together.
To illustrate this idea, the brand has used the “Time Traveller” approach, tapping an actor to portray a lost Victorian time traveller who drops to a young woman’s gathering, in her apartment. Luckily, one of the participants at the party has a pop-open mixed box of KitKat Senses, which proves to be the perfect thing to welcome the unexpected guest. In addition to the “delightfully indulgent” chocolate treats, available in three flavours – Double Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Hazelnut – the latter has discovered something else new: selfies.
“Bring everyone together with new KitKat Senses,” the voiceover says at the end of the spot.
The Hazelnut chocolate treats are filled with “indulgent praline and crunchy pieces of hazelnut”, the Double Chocolate ones feature “a layer of rich chocolate ganache and crunchy cocoa nibs”, and the Salted Caramel ones “a sumptuous caramel filling infused with crunchy salted flakes.” The mixed box includes individually-wrapped chocolate treats in all of the three flavours.
